The double-sheet measures approximately 26.5" × 18" when opened and features Johnson's ornate 1863. 65 border and crisp engraved detail. The left-hand page presents New Jersey, divided into counties and townships, with roads, early railroads, rivers, ferry routes, canals, and shore features clearly marked. The right-hand page presents Delaware and Maryland, with dense county and township breakdowns, Chesapeake Bay detail, rivers, canals, and routes linking Baltimore, Wilmington, and coastal regions. A detailed inset in the lower right shows Washington, D.

And Georgetown, engraved on an enlarged scale for clarity. Verso text features "Interesting and Curious Animals, " consistent with Johnson's 1864 atlas structure and supportive of the dating. Original 1860s hand-coloring in pink, green, and yellow. Extensive county, township, and transportation detail. Clean impression with light age toning and minor margin wear typical of mid-19th-century atlas sheets.
